Friday Favorites

TGIF, friends!

Sharing my favorites from the week with you and linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci.

ONE

I am loving my new camera I got from my in-laws for Christmas.  Since the girls are getting more active with sports, I wanted a good camera to capture all of the memories.  My iPhone takes great pictures, but this camera takes even better ones!

I’m amazed at the quality of the pictures.  Also, I LOVE that it instantly sends the pictures straight to my phone.  I can’t wait to mess around with the settings more and learn about it. It’s a Nikon D3500.

TWO

My shows are back on from winter break.  Did anyone else catch This is Us, Grey’s Anatomy, or A Million Little Things this week!?!?!  These are currently all of my favorites to watch on TV.

THREE

This isn’t really a favorite, but wanted to share it here. We ended up getting rid of Max last night.  He was just too much to handle.  The girls adored him and are sad.

However, we just realized we are not a 2-dog family.  We weren’t giving him the life he needed and he was in his kennel the majority of the time.  We are never home and it just wasn’t fair to him.

We will miss Max, but I’m not going to lie.  I’m looking forward to not having to take him out at 5:30 in the morning and sleeping in on a Saturday.  LOL

Have a great Friday and weekend!  Liz is heading to her first DNOW weekend with our church.  I’m so excited for her, but also a little nervous with her handling her sugar and giving herself all her shots solo for 3 days!  Prayers appreciated.

  1. I love my Nikon! I missed my favorite shows this week (glad I can catch up whenever I want on Hulu!!) since we haven’t been home much…. and got sucked into watching the latest season of Shameless.

  2. I have a Nikon D3300 so yours is the next step up from mine! You will love it. I watched This Is Us and A Million Little Things, I gave up Grey’s Anatomy this year. Have a good weekend!

  3. iPhone pics are so good these days, but the DSLR’s really shine in low light or for action shots. Michael and I both took our Christmas tree PJ pics with a self timer – me with the big camera and him with his brand new iphone. Both were good, but the lighting was much better and less yellow with the camera.

I’m so sorry to hear about Max, but totally understand. We have had phases with one dog and phases with two. Now we have just one, and I have made the executive decision that we are a one dog family now. It’s less commotion, less clean up and fewer boarding/vet fees. To be honest, I think Albie loves being the center of attention! And with the kids getting older, I know we’ll be travelling more, either just the two of us or to visit them in college. It’s a lot easier with one dog!!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. I can’t wait to learn more and more about the camera.
As far as Max goes, it really is for the best. We are sad. But it was just too much for us to handle. We are definitely a 1 dog family, too! Hope you have a great weekend.

  4. If I was your neighbor I would have taken Max! I had to rehome our dog when my son was born because I just felt so overwhelmed. Then I had mommy guilt after I did. But that was six years ago and we’re all good LOL! Look at those little athletes rocking it out and now you can capture the best photos to remember it by! I love it! Happy weekend!

  5. I love my Nikon! Also, I am so sorry about Max, I know you will all miss him but I am sure that you did the right thing. Again, you will love that camera for all the girls sports stuff and all your exploring you do in the summer!

  6. Sorry to hear about your dog – I hope you found him a great home? It is a difficult decision to make but sounds like the right one – dogs are a total lifestyle and like having another child – people always show the cute pics but I know how much hard work they are and how much constant attention they need ( I have a springer spaniel and believe me I know haha). We had to re-home a dog once and it was heart-breaking – but also a relief because you know when it is the right thing – they have to enhance your life, not stress you out. First visit toy our blog – I see Jenna mention your blog a lot so needed to check it out! Joanne.

    1. So glad you stopped by!!! And you are totally right about dogs. They are so much work! Max was bring more stress than anything to us so we knew we needed to rehome. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  7. I’m just catching up on posts so just now reading about Max. I’m sorry! That’s tough but if it’s best for him then you guys are so strong to go through with that.

I LOVE that your new camera send the pictures to your phone!!!!! That’s an amazing feature!
