Our youngest, Emily Grace, turned 16 last week.
It’s so bittersweet when you know it’s your baby that hits this milestone.
I was able to take her and a couple of friends for a fun weekend in Nashville. We stayed at the Graduate hotel, shopped A LOT, ate great food, and had the best time!
Her birthday morning we started with our traditional pancake breakfast.
Then we were able to go over to my sister’s house to celebrate her with a great lunch (it was Memorial Day also) and cake and ice cream.
I love that my sister decorated her house for her. She is the best hostess at everything.
Since her birthday fell on Memorial Day this year she had to wait until that Tuesday, May 28 to take her test.
Well, there was a tornado that hit our town on the Sunday before her birthday, May 26, and it hit the side of town the armory is on where driver’s test are given. They were without power the morning of her birthday so we knew she was probably not going to be able to take her test.
Thankfully, Chris said there was a sign at the Dexter location that said the testers were in a town 30 minutes away so they were able to drive there and get her test taken.
She was so nervous but PASSED and that’s all that matters!
I’m so proud of the young lady Emily is becoming and am so glad to be her mom!

Happy birthday to Emily! It looks like a fun weekend in Nashville. I can’t wait to check out the Graduate hotel when we visit my daughter there!
