Happy Monday! Today it is back to reality for Chris and I as we are heading back to school. We have meetings Monday-Wednesday, then get students on Thursday!
I am ready for it! Can’t wait to see my co-workers and meet all my 8th graders. I LOVE my job!
Sharing a weekend recap with you today. I’m going to try to get back into the habit of these posts since we are going back to school.
I’m linking up with Johannah and Heather for their Hello, Monday post.
Friday I took the girls up to Cape for one last day of fun before school starts.
We hit the pottery place first. Liz made a cute bowl for her room so she can hold her scrunchies and other stuff in it. Emily made Max a new dog bowl.
They did a great job on them and I can’t wait to see the finished product after it’s been in the kiln.
We went to Target and TJ Maxx and then headed back home. It was a great, relaxing last day of freedom!
Friday night Liz went to a friend’s house for a birthday party sleepover and Emily had a friend over as well.
Max hung out with me all evening while I worked on lesson plans.
Saturday morning Emily and her friend played Minecraft when they woke up.
We then took her home and picked Liz up and headed to PB for my uncle’s house. He had a BBQ for a family friend’s birthday and it was a perfect afternoon. Great food and great weather!
While we were at my Uncle’s house, I snuck away for about an hour and went to Ulta by myself.
It was glorious! I needed some new make up since I am going back to work and I was able to look at all my options without the girls distracting me.
When we left my Aunt and Uncle’s house, it ended on a sad note. They have an older wiener dog, Lucy, that has a tumor that makes it hard for her to walk well. She was near the top of their stairs outside on the deck and slipped and rolled all the way down the steps!
My aunt and uncle immediately took her to the vet because she couldn’t walk or stand and was shaking terribly. They ended up having to put her to sleep! It was so sad! The vet said her tumor was taking over her chest cavity and she possibly broke her back/neck during the fall also. So putting her down was the best option to keep her out of pain.
My girls were really upset (everyone was) and it was just a sad day. Losing a pet is hard!
On the way home we stopped at Wal-Mart for my weekly grocery pick-up. BEST thing ever!
Saturday evening, we made homemade pizzas on french toast and had a movie night. We watched Wonder because it has such a wonderful message as we head back to school. Choose kind!
Sunday morning we slept in LATE! It was our last day of being able to do that, so we took advantage of it.
I went up to my classroom to hang curtains my Nini made for me and then we swam the whole afternoon together. It was fun!
Sunday evening I did laundry, cut up all the fruit for the week, and finished reading my book!
Then, we watched America’s Got Talent and just relaxed together as a family. Perfect ending to a great weekend!
Leaving you with our #selfieSunday. I pray you have a blessed week!

Yea for new makeup and grocery pick up! Have a wonderful back-to-school week!
Thank you!
What a great weekend! I am with you when it comes to the WalMart grocery pick up…best thing ever!!! Also, have a great week back. I still have three weeks and trying to soak it all in but the summer scaries are creeping in. It will be so nice to be back into a routine! Love all the pictures from the weekend! Glad you guys were able to squeeze in some pool and family time.
I am ready for more of a routine, but it was hard to wake up this morning!
Love the pool … I wish I had a pool in the backyard.I think I would spend my entire day back there. Instead I live in a zero-lot line with the backyard the size of a postage stamp. When I was growing up though we had an acre for a backyard and I am so glad that I don’t have to mow it.
Are the girls ready to go back to school too? I am sure that it’s tough for the entire family to adjust from being home all summer together to everyone being back to life in a few days. Do you or your husband work part-time during the summer outside of teaching?
We are slowly adjusting to being back in school. My husband works part time in the summer and loves it. We love our pool, too!
