Happy Friday! We are SLEEEEPPPYYY in the Bolin household this Friday. Going back to school has been rough on all of us since we’ve been use to our pajamas and sleeping in the past few weeks. {Spoiled, I know!}
This year I have decided that instead of doing my Thursday’s Three, I am going to start linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites.
So, here is my first Friday Favorites of the year and I am excited because I have a few great things to share with you!
ONE
Last night we played Rummikub for family game night and we loved it! It was the first time Chris and I had ever played it and we didn’t really know what to expect. We are always searching for good games to play with the girls for our family game nights, so we were excited to try a new game! It took us a while to learn this game. The directions weren’t very clear and we ended up watching a YouTube video to make sure we understood how to play. Once we got the hang of it though we really enjoyed it. I liked it because it took some thinking on how to play your sets and get rid of all of your tiles. Emily is 8 and struggled with the rules at first, but was eventually understanding it by the end of the game. It is definitely one we will keep in our rotation of games for game night.
TWO
I am always looking for a good pair of no-show socks. I love to wear Converse shoes and I have smelly feet, so I have to wear socks with them. I have never had good luck with socks that don’t show and will stay up on my feet, so I decided to give these a try when I saw them online with great reviews. I love them! They are lightweight and stay on my feet and don’t slip down. Also, you can’t tell I am wearing any socks at all with my Converse and that is the look I like. They look great with my tennis shoes and leggings as well. Win/win situation!
THREE
At the beginning of each year I always try to find a new devotional book to read. A few years ago I read Jesus Calling by Sarah Young and it was wonderful. When I saw she had a new devotional book, I knew that was the one I wanted to get for this year. This one is Jesus Always and it focuses on how to find joy in your life. So far I have liked each devotion for the day and it has spoken to my heart. If you are in search for a good devotional I recommend any book by Sarah Young.
FOUR
The fourth thing that is quickly becoming one of my favorites is this new sweatshirt I got with my Christmas money. I am REALLY picky about what hoodies or sweatshirts I wear. I want them to be soft and long enough to cover my bum. I spent more money on this sweatshirt than I normally would, but I wanted a good quality sweatshirt that I could wear a lot. I have worn this sweatshirt almost every day on the weekends since I got it, so I am glad I splurged a little bit.
FIVE
Chris and I are big Switchfoot fans so when they released a new album recently we had to buy it. Their new song, Live it Well, is my all time favorite right now. I love the message the song tells. Here are the lyrics to the chorus:
Life is short; I wanna live it well
One life, one story to tell
Life is short; I wanna live it well
And you’re the one I’m living for
It is a good reminder that we need to make the best of every day and we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow on this Earth.
Well, that is all for now! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
