What a wonderful, relaxing weekend and it was just what this family needed.
Liz started running a really high fever on Wednesday night. My mother in law watched her for us on Thursday and I stayed home with her on Friday. We had an extremely lazy day together on Friday. We watched Netflix, played American girl dolls, and took a nap. She felt a lot better by Friday afternoon and slowly started to feel like her normal self again.
When Chris and Emily came home from school we continued our laziness and did a whole lot of nothing! I fixed a good supper and after we ate we decided to have our family game night since Elizabeth didn’t feel like playing on our normal Thursday night.
We played Gooey Louie, which is still one of Emily’s favorites, and also Jenga. Jenga is probably one of our favorite games to play and we are actually getting really good at keeping the tower up. My heart was happy to see Elizabeth feeling better!
The girls went to bed early and Chris and I stayed up late to play rummy against each other. I beat him (of course) but it was closer than it usually is.
Chris went up to Cape early Saturday morning to hunt and then to work at the Teen Challenge Thrift Store. He usually works up there every Saturday. With his background in retail (Wal-Mart) he’s really good at it, plus he loves the opportunity to minister to those men. Elizabeth had cheer Saturday morning. I wasn’t going to send her, but she said she felt all better and had been fever free for 24 hours so I went ahead and let her go. She’s getting too big to “pose” for a pic for me, so I secretly took one while she was walking in.
While Liz was at cheer Emily and I went and worked in my classroom. I had to miss Wednesday this week for a doctor’s appointment and then I took off Friday to be with Elizabeth, so I knew I would have a lot to catch up on. My sub was wonderful and taught my class just like I was there so it didn’t take me near as long to get everything in order and ready for this upcoming week. I was so thankful for that!

After my classroom we went to the library to get our AR books for this week.
We picked Liz up from cheer at noon and headed home to grab some lunch. After lunch, we headed to our high school to watch the Wizard of Oz Musical. Every year our high school puts on a musical and I think this year was my favorite one so far. The girls really liked it because a lot of kids their age played the munchkins and it was a familiar story to them. As a teacher it’s always neat to see your former students all grown up. {My pics of the play aren’t very good because of the lighting.}
When Chris got home, we ate supper together and then made the girls shower and get ready for bed so we could all lay down and watch a movie together. We were all showered and in jammies by 7:00 p.m. We blew up the air mattress so the girls could be comfy while watching the movie. Free Birds was the movie choice in honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving week. The girls were ready for bed by the time the movie was over and after putting them to bed I went grocery shopping for the week. Wild Saturday night at the Bolin household!
Sunday was church followed by lots of laziness! I had fixed chili before church so it was ready for lunch when we got home. Chris and Elizabeth headed to the deer woods after lunch and Emily and I hung out and were lazy together for a few hours. We watched YouTube toy reviews, browsed eBay for Littlest Pet Shop toys, and styled some of her American Girl dolls’ hair.
I was then very productive and cleaned the whole house and did a few loads of laundry while Emily played outside. She is the queen of roller skating, singing at the top of her lungs, and playing basketball all at the same time. Love her care free attitude and happiness!
Sunday night was baths, reading, studying for a Science test, watching TV, and snuggling.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving week! We are looking forward to a few days off of school and time with family. Please take the time and remember to be grateful for all that you have been blessed with.
As always, leaving you with our #selfieSunday {girls had craft day at church and were excused from wearing a dress}
