Happy Thursday, friends!  I am so excited for today!

Today is Jenna and I’s very first link-up for our new monthly link-up, Share Your.  I am so excited to read everyone’s post today!   If you are linking up with us, don’t forget to use #shareyour2019 on IG.

Today we are sharing our goals/resolutions/or where you see yourself in 5 years.

I don’t really do new year resolutions anymore.  I found that when I made a big list for the whole year, I wasn’t very good at sticking with it.

However, I have TWO major things I want to focus on throughout the whole year, so I guess you could say they are New Year Resolutions.

My first one is reading my Bible more.  I have been HORRIBLE at this lately!  God has really been convicting me of not being in His word.  I have realized that it doesn’t have to be complicated or hard to read the Bible.  I just need to DO IT!  If I can spend my time blogging and surfing social media, I can definitely read my Bible.

Secondly, I want to get HEALTHY!  I am not overweight, but I am very out of shape and unhealthy.  I eat horrible, snack all the time, and I haven’t worked out in a very long time.  This needs to change!

Last year, I did monthly goals and plan to keep doing that this year.  Makes it easier to focus and achieve the goals for me.

Here are my monthly January goals:

  • Complete the Daniel Fast
  • Exercise 4 times a week
  • Get Max a shock collar and train him to not jump up on people
  • READ my Bible EVERY DAY!
  • Read at least 3 books
  • Learn how to Pin a blog post

Lastly, where do I see myself in 5 years?  This question is a fun one!

Honestly, when I think 5 years into the future, I get a little weapy.  Elizabeth will be 17 and Emily will be almost 16!!! WHAT?!?!?  To top that off, Chris will be 40 and I will be 39!  WOW!

I hope in 5 years that Chris and I are still living in our current house.  (we have a tendency to move every 2 years.) However, I hope we stay put in this house and this is the house the girls remember growing up in.  I love the space it offers with the basement and extra rooms.

I also see us in 5 years with all of our student loans paid off and owning property in our hometown of Doniphan.  Chris and I would love about 40 acres over there to retire on someday.

I hope that the girls are happy and healthy and loving life as a teenager and Chris and I are there to support them in whatever they want to do.

I see Emily being a good basketball player, Elizabeth being a cheerleader, and both girls loving the game of volleyball.  I also hope Emily learns to use her talent of singing more and isn’t afraid to sing in front of large crowds.  And that Elizabeth continues to rock diabetes!

Lord willing, we might even have another child thrown in the mix with foster care.  I would be okay with that as long as it was a good fit for our family.  This is something we definitely pray about every day.

I hope in 5 years I am still teaching 8th grade math, but I see Chris being a principal and/or superintendent.  Maybe not in 5 years, but one day I hope he pursues this because he is EXCELLENT at everything he does!

Who knows what the future will hold?  It’s fun to dream and have wishes that you think will happen.  Whatever we are doing, I know we will all be together and loving life.

What about you?  What are your goals or resolutions for the new year?  Where do you see yourself in 5 years?  I look forward to hearing from you!

  1. Love, love, love your goals!! I so can show you how to pin a blog post 😉 thanks for hosting this link-up! I can’t wait to see what 2019 holds for the Bolin Bunch!

    1. Great! I will be messaging you! LOL I tried to work on it a little bit the other day and failed miserably. Thank you for linking up! I can’t wait to see what your 2019 looks like either.

  2. I love your goals so much! I think they are so great and do-able. I can help with the Pintrest. I cannot wait to see what 2019 brings you and your sweet family. I also loved your 5 year plan. It was crazy to think about 5 years from now and how old my kids will be and what I really want for them and our family. I hope you have a wonderful day and I am so excited for our link-up!

  3. It’s a good idea to stick with two goals for the year and smaller goals for each month! I also found it crazy to think about my kids in 5 years!

  4. I know what you mean.. thinking 5 years into the future my youngest will be 16 and my oldest 20!! That just seems crazy. But I’m sure it will be here before I know it since I feel like the last 15 years flew right by. Sure there were(are) days in the trenches of motherhood that seem so long and hard but the years just seem to fly right by. Thanks so much for hosting this fun link- up! I see quite a few topics I’m pretty excited about.

  5. I chose to do a word of the year for 2019 instead of goals, but I’m definitely working on my quiet time and trying to lose those last four pounds this year, too!
