Weekend Recap

Hey, hey! It’s Monday! Only one more Monday after today and we are on summer break! Yay!

Linking up with Johannah, Heather, and Lindsay for Hello, Monday.

Friday night was our Stoddard County Relay for Life event. Liz’s cheer team had to be there at 4:15 and performed first for the night. They did a great job!

They even tumbled some for the crowd.

Followed by a toe touch competition. Liz didn’t place but her good friend placed 2nd.

We drove straight up to Cape and met my good friend Carli for dinner at Chick Fil A. I could eat there every meal and never get tired of it!

Next stop was to Sportsplex where Liz played volleyball. It was their last Friday night of playing for this Cape league. We won one and then lost one against a really tough 6th grade team.

While the girls and I were at Cape, Chris was in St. Louis with his dad and some friends enjoying the Cardinals/Cubs game. I was jealous he got to go, but glad he was able to.

Saturday morning we went back to Cape for an all day tournament with the Cape league. It was a great way to wrap that league up. We played 5 games and placed 2nd in the GOLD bracket. The team we lost to in three sets was a really tall 6th grade team. My team beat a lot of other 6th grade teams to make it to the championship game so I was so proud of them! They never got intimidated and held their own.

After the tournament we invited the team to come back to our house for a sleepover. Emily went to Nana and Papa’s house so she wouldn’t be in the way.

The girls arrived and instantly played volleyball. Made this coach happy!

They had pizza, played outside until dark, watched movies, and went to bed at a decent time! It was a successful sleepover!

Our neighbor who was the girls cadet teacher last year stopped by. They were so excited to see her!

Sunday I made muffins and pancakes and the girls were picked up before church.

Chris went to get Emily and Liz and I were headed to church, but we started fighting a stubborn low so stayed around the house. Finally after a real Dr. Pepper it raised her sugar to around 90. I hate fighting lows!

We headed to Doniphan for lunch on Sunday afternoon when Chris got back with Emily. My Nini made burgers and potatoes, my favorite! We all went outside and enjoyed the beautiful day together and then told old vacation stories.

Sunday evening we had some friends over for a fish fry. We were going to have a friendly volleyball competition, Templemires vs. Bolins, but it started pouring the rain while we were eating supper. The kids were disappointed, but we still had a good evening visiting with each other.

After our friends left, Chris finished his last assignment ever for his Specialist degree! At this time he doesn’t want to pursue his Doctorate degree, so he is finally done with school! I took a picture of him after he turned his last assignment in. He makes me proud!

Leaving you with our #selfieSunday. I pray you have a blessed week!
