Year in Review

2022 Year in Review

Can you believe we are almost in a new year? It’s so crazy!

Instead of doing my traditional year in review post, I decided to select my top 10 favorite pictures from this year and explain each of them a little bit.

I had a hard time selecting only 10 pictures, so I actually chose the top 12 pictures of the year.

Enjoy!

This picture is a favorite because this was such a simple day for our family but one of the best days. We rode our side by side all day, had a nice lunch together, walked along the river, and just hung out outside all day. That evening we watched March Madness on the couch together eating pizza. Pretty perfect day if you ask me!

Seeing my oldest nephew, Tyler, dressed up for his first prom is a core memory for me this year. I loved how confident and proud he was in his suit and I thought he looked so handsome!

This picture is a favorite of mine because it shows the love of family. This was taken after one of Emily’s volleyball games. It has a lot of variety of different family members in it, but no matter what with my family we show up for each other and I love that!

My Nini is the glue that holds our family together and this year she turned 80. We had a wonderful few days of celebrating her in Branson and it was just such a sweet girls trip!

This picture cracks me up every time I look at it! But this was at a baseball game that Tyler was able to sing at with his choir. That game was a disaster because it was cold and rainy, windy, and our team lost by 12 points I believe. But we made the best of it and had some fun memories from that game!

We went to the Fox theater together for the first time and saw Hamilton! It was a great show and we will definitely be back to watch more of their shows.

It’s rare me and Chris take a picture together. I’m not sure why, we are just always so busy with teaching and coaching and the girls. But Chris snapped this picture of us at a Cardinals baseball game and it’s one of my favorites of me and him.

Our quick road trip this summer was such a favorite of mine as well! Niagara Falls was beautiful and I will never forget riding the Maid of the Mist with the girls. Such an awesome time!

Both of the girls in high school this year playing volleyball together was a highlight for me. It was so fun to watch them on the court together and them getting 1st place in the Stoddard County Championship was just icing on the cake.

Getting to see Reba in concert was one of the best things to happen this year and seeing her with my sister was even better! We had a great girls weekend together and sang our hearts out at her concert!

My nephew, Tyler, has just had a banner year. He made All-STATE choir this year! This is such a big deal and we were so so proud of him! We went and celebrated together afterwards and his joy was contagious and made my heart so happy!

Last but not least, is one of my greatest accomplishments so far in my life (besides my family). I was hired to be the Bloomfield Elementary Principal for next school year and I am so honored for this chance. My passion is kids and education and I can’t wait to make a huge impact at Bloomfield Elementary!

Not many people saw the background work it took to fill out applications, interview, and ultimately just put yourself out there. I was told “no” 16 times before my yes came! So if you are in a similar situation and getting discouraged, my advice is to just keep on keeping on.

The right thing will open up at just the right time and all the “nos” will make more sense.

Whew, what a year!

My girls are getting older and the years seem like they go faster and faster, but I’m so thankful for all the many blessings in my life.

I pray you and your family have a happy and prosperous New Year!
