Camping

Clearwater Lake 2021

Happy Friday! Can you believe it’s already July? So crazy to me!

A few weekends ago we were able to sneak away and spend a long weekend camping at Clearwater Lake.

We stayed at Bluff View Campground. It was a gorgeous campground and a great layout of the campsites, but Emily only gives it 4 stars because it didn’t have ANY cell service at all!

She begged us to take her into town so she could have service and keep her Snapchat streaks alive! #teenagers

Chris also didn’t like that they didn’t have sewer hook up there and we had to use a dump station. We are learning all about this RV/camping life and we realize we like for our sites to have water/electric/sewer all together at the site!

Despite all that, we had a great time! We were able to camp with my sister and her family and many memories were made!

We got there Thursday night late and was able to get everything set up and ready to go for the weekend.

My sister and BIL both had to go back to work on Friday and Elizabeth and I had to go to her volleyball scrimmage, so Chris was on dad duty with Emily and Zach. (Tyler was working too)

They kayaked, swam, and had a great day! We all laughed because when we got back to the campers Friday afternoon Chris said he was off duty and wasn’t in charge of anymore kids for the weekend! HA

Elizabeth played in her very first high school volleyball game during the scrimmage and it was fun to watch!

Friday evening the kids all kayaked and swam some more while we watched them from the bank.

Saturday we got a slow start to the day and slept in. We had a great lunch, then we all went down to the water again.

We swam, laid out, jumped off rocks, kayaked, ate great snacks, and loved being on the water with zero cell service. It was nice to totally unplug from everything!

We came back to the camper and played video games and chilled while we fixed a good supper.

That evening we made the kids stay in the camper and us adults went for a LONG boat ride! We went all over the lake and were amazed at how beautiful it was! God’s creation is the best.

Sunday (Father’s Day) we decided to rent a pontoon and go out on the lake all day. We were on the water from 9:00 in the morning to 6:00 at night! My mom and Nini came for the day and spent the afternoon with us and we all had a great time!

Our pontoon had a slide so the kids went down the slide, tubed, jumped off the top deck, and loved every minute of it!

To see them (and all of us adults) have fun made me so happy! I’m learning the older I get it’s being together and making memories that makes me the happiest!

Here is a fun video from our trip also!

We were supposed to stay until Monday evening but we decided to head back to the river and camp there Sunday night because there was supposed to be a bad storm on Monday and we didn’t want to be packing our camper up and traveling home during that!

We are excited to try a new campground next! We aren’t going a lot on the weekends right now in the summer since it’s so hot and we have the river lot, but once fall gets here, I know we will be traveling more with our camper! We are loving it!

Hope y’all have a great 4th of July weekend! Be safe!

  1. You have so many wonderful photos of your time together too! I am just awful about taking any photos when we get together with family. That sounds like such a great week and I am loving that the pontoon boat had a slide; I have never seen one with a slide before!
