This weekend was opening weekend of deer season and that is a big deal in our house!
Friday night the stars aligned and both girls were at a friend’s house and Chris stayed up at the deer camp, so I had the WHOLE house to myself for the WHOLE evening!
I didn’t take one picture, but it was glorious!
I ordered BBQ nachos for supper and watched all my shows from the week! Glorious!?!?
Saturday morning Chris texted bright and early saying BBD (big buck down)!
And sent this picture:
It was a nice 8-pointer!
If you know me, you know I love pictures. So I told Chris to make sure he got a picture with his deer.
Well, goofy Chris FORGOT!! He didn’t get one picture of the deer before he sawed the head off.
So I had to resort to taking a picture of Chris when he got home with only the deer head, no body!
What makes this story even funnier is that Chris tries to redeem himself and tries to jimmy rig the head back close to the body to get a picture of the whole deer for me!
I died laughing when he sent this picture to me!!! It’s the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
I do give Chris points though for “trying”! HA
Saturday the girls and I were super lazy. They made their Christmas lists and I did the normal weekend cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.
Sunday was church and then followed by Emily going deer hunting with Chris.
Liz went deer hunting during youth season and didn’t get anything but Emily wasn’t able to hunt then because of basketball practice.
She was so excited to go with Chris! She and Liz both love hunting with their daddy and I’m thankful he loves to take them.
Emily was able to get a 6-point! She called me SOOOOO excited!
I love how excited she gets about things in her life.
Chris made up for his awful deer picture and remembered to take plenty of pictures of Emily with her deer!
I was so happy for her and big sister, Elizabeth, was a tad jealous.
When they got home, Chris and Emily had to get a picture with their matching deer heads.
Leaving you with our #selfieSunday.
We have such a busy week this week! I pray you have a blessed week!
The whole house to yourself for the whole night?! I am jealous! Sounds like a good weekend.
It was glorious!!!
I had a big laugh when you posted that body-less deer head on Instagram. Hope you have a wonderful week!
He’s a mess!
Don’t you get nervous to sleep at home w/o Chris or anyone home?? (I’m a wimp. 😬) I’m so excited for their successful hunting trip!!!!!
Not at all! I love it.
