Happy Thursday! Happy 21st Birthday to my cousin, Makayla!
Tonight is Emily’s 5th grade musical. I am so excited to watch it!
I was only able to read 2 books this month. I’m telling you, I’m slacking! But, I know I will do better next month!
The first book I read this month was The Great Alone. It wasn’t my favorite book, but it was a good book also. It took me FOREVER to get into this book. It was such a long book and it really took a while for the characters and story to be laid out.
I didn’t like how the book ended with Matthew getting hurt, but am so glad that Leni decided to go back to Alaska. I also learned a lot about the state of Alaska through reading this book, so that was an added bonus.
3.5/5 stars
The second book I read this month was Where the Crawdads Sing. I started it last month, but then got so busy I didn’t pick it back up again until last Sunday. I read the WHOLE book in one day! It was SOOO good! I loved everything about Kya, the “marsh” girl, and her love story with Tate. The ending had a twist that I really loved also. I definitely recommend this book to everyone!
5/5 stars
Hope your Thursday is great!
I too thought the Great Alone took a long time to get through but once I finished it I knew it was one of those stories that was going to stick with me. It was so moving at times; as most of her books are. I’m still waiting for Where the Crawdad Sing to come in at our library; I’ve heard such great things about it.
Yes, Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite authors. Hope your day is great!
I started Where The Crawdads Sing last night! I need to get into it, I hope I finish it quickly like you did!
I was just looking for a book recommendation. I am adding this to my list! I just finished Wonder.
Wonder was the best! Book was way better than movie.
I finished The Great Alone last month! Loved it! I see what you mean about it taking a while but I fell in love with the description of the landscape of Alaska! We visited Alaska a few summers ago and I felt like I could visualize all of it! And one point I actually gasped out loud during some of the intense parts! Ugh! What are you reading next?!
So cool! My husband is from Alaska and we want to go soon! Right now I’m reading Every Breath by Nicholas Sparks. So far so good.
