Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!  I have a feeling this is going to be a crazy week!  It is our homecoming week so we have dress up days at school and it’s also our Stoddard County Fair week!  The students are usually a little crazy during these times, but that’s what makes our job so fun!

Linking up with Johannah and Heather today and sharing our weekend with you.

Friday after school Emily went home with one of her good friends and played at her house until the football game.  Since Emily was gone I let Liz have a friend come over to play as well.  They were a hoot to be around and I learned a lot about what’s cool in the 5th grade world.

After playing and letting the girls eat supper at Taco Bell we headed to the football game.  We love Football Fridays!  We ended with a Bearcat win over the Sikeston bulldogs, so it made it even better!

Saturday morning started with dropping Liz off at her cheer camp that was from 9:00-12:00.  She had a blast helping the little girls learn their routine for our homecoming tailgate performance this Friday.

While she was at cheer camp Emily and I went to Wal-Mart and got our weekly groceries, went to the bank, and then went to my classroom and got everything ready for the upcoming week.  Emily is such a great helper!

We picked Elizabeth up from cheer camp and went home and ate lunch.  After lunch I made both the girls shower and then they practiced volleyball outside for an hour.  I worked on my college homework during this time and got it all done for the upcoming week!

Liz had a birthday party sleepover to go to so we dropped her off there just in time for Chris to get back home from working at Teen Challenge.  I wasn’t able to get any pictures from Elizabeth’s sleepover she went to, but she had a great time!

Chris and I decided to go over to Doniphan and see my mom.  Our first stop at Doniphan is always to look at Current River.  Since it was warmer this weekend, it was really crowded!

Then we stopped by my Nini’s house and visited with her a while.  I love my Nini!

Then, I wanted Chris to take me to the cemetery to see dad’s headstone.  I haven’t been able to bring myself to going out there and seeing it before then, but I knew I wanted to.  Once we were out there, it was A LOT harder on me than what I thought it would be.  I’m not sure why.  I know he’s not there and he’s in heaven whole and happy and praising Jesus.  I just kept thinking there was so much I wish I could tell him about what’s been going on with me and just wish I could talk to him one more time.  Emily got really emotional as well while we were there, and it was just a hard afternoon on the emotions.  I was glad I went though and hope to go back often.

After that we finally made it out to my mom’s house.  She had just gotten back from shopping all day with my sister, but my sister had a wedding to attend, so I didn’t get to see her.

Chris helped mom take some trash out to her burn pile behind her house and then I helped her rearrange her Hs for her H wall.  The picture I’m showing of her H wall isn’t how we ended up leaving it.  We added one more H and re-arranged some of the others.  I think it looks really good, though!

We stayed and visited for a few hours and then came back home to Dexter.

Sunday we went to church, ate lunch, and then got ready for our volleyball game.

I snapped this picture of Emily after church.  I was trying to get a good picture of her cute dress and shoes, but she had to have Happy in the picture with her and you can’t see her dress that well.  She looked super cute, though!

I was nervous about our volleyball game today because one of our best players had to be out of town for her great-grandma’s birthday party.  However, we still ended up with a win.  I had some girls really step up and play excellent to help us win.  I am so proud of all of my girls on my team.  Go RED!

Sunday after volleyball I did the normal house stuff and then Chris and I cleaned out the garage really well.  We ended our evening watching football together after we put the girls to bed.

Leaving you with our #selfieSunday.  I pray you have a blessed week!

  1. So sorry seeing your dad’s head stone was so hard. Grief is so hard because it just comes from no where. I am so sorry my friend. However, I am really happy that you got in some good family time too. Also, have fun this week with all the crazy! 🙂 I love Homecoming week!
