Hello! It’s the last Friday before school starts! AHHHHH! I am excited to get back into a routine and actually converse with other people besides Chris and the girls. However, I will miss our freedom to do whatever we want and take as many naps as we want.
I actually have the whole day to myself and plan to go up to my classroom and organize a few things.
Today I am linking up with Narci, Erika, and Andrea to share with you my Friday Favorites.
WARNING: PICTURE OVERLOAD in this post! Please scroll all the way through though so you see all the fun we had this week!
ONE
Monday we had our registration day at the school. The girls got their pictures made for the yearbook and found out who their teachers were going to be. They both got wonderful teachers and are excited for a great year! I can’t believe I have a 4th and 5th grader. They are at such a fun age and I love them to pieces.
TWO
I talked about Emily getting a Wreck This Journal on our Florida trip. Since we’ve been home she has been filling out all the pages. One of the pages said to tear it out and hide it in your neighbors’ yard. Our neighbor is actually a great friend of ours and is going to be Emily’s math teacher this year and was Liz’s math teacher last year. So Emily wrote her a little note on it and hid it in their yard.
Well, Mrs. Williams found it and wrote Emily a special note back! It made her squeal with delight! It was hidden by our tree swing and Emily thought it was the coolest thing! It definitely made her day. I’m thankful for wonderful neighbors that love my girls like their own!
THREE
Saw this quote on Pinterest and loved it as we start a new school year. Often times I feel like teachers have a lot of pressure on them and are held to such a high standard to be “perfect”. I don’t think students or parents realize that we are humans also and have a life we live outside the school. I thought this was a great reminder to pray for my girls’ teachers and myself as we start back to school.
FOUR
We’ve had a really rough week with baby girl teething and still trying to get adjusted to our house and routine. My spirit has been a little weary if I am honest with you. While I was up rocking her at around 2:30 in the morning and surfing FB, I came across this saying and it immediately spoke to me. I was reminded that I am not doing this for myself, I am doing it for Him. I was thankful for that little reminder.
FIVE
I saved the best for last this week! Yesterday we had our Annual Bolin Back to School Bash. This is the third year we have done this for the girls. We let them each invite 8 friends to come over and swim and play some games together. Basically just a time to hang out and play before the start of a new school year. I kept it really simple this year and we did “old school” games and chips/cookies/ice cream sandwiches for snacks. My girls had the best time ever! It was fun to watch them with their friends. I pray they all have a great school year! Sorry, not sorry, for all the pictures!
The Whole Gang
Just the 4th Graders!
4th Grade Here We Come is what the sign says
Just the 5th Graders (Look Out 5th Grade)
A little slime break for the 5th graders. They are obsessed!
Hope you all have a great Friday!
