Can you believe it’s already the last Wednesday of July?!!? I know you get tired of hearing it, but this summer has flown by!
Today I am linking up with Shay, Mel, and Sheaffer and sharing with you my monthly What’s Up Wednesday post.
What I’m reminiscing about:
This may sound weird, but I have been thinking back to all of my years of teaching. I am fixing to start year 11 and it is hard to believe! I was going through old pictures the other night and found a few pictures from when I taught 5th grade. These kiddos graduated this year and are fixing to head off to college. I wish them the best of luck and will always be one of their biggest cheerleaders in life.
What I’m loving:
Starburst Pink Edition. They are very hard to find, but when I do see them, I usually get 3 or 4 packages. Target is the best place to look for them. SO yummy!
What we’ve been up to:
We have been at the beach! I feel like most of our July was spent in Florida and I loved every minute of it. I did a recap of our first 3 days in a post here. I hope to share days 4-6 with you tomorrow and then the rest of our trip one day next week. This picture is one of my favorites from our vacation.
What I’m dreading:
Setting my alarm clock. It’s been 11 weeks since I’ve woken up by an alarm. Even though I am usually an early riser, it’s going to be hard getting back into the swing of things when school starts.
What I’m working on:
Homework, homework, homework…I am almost finished with my second Master’s class and then I have a few weeks off before the fall semester starts.
I am also working on a little project for my father in-law’s birthday that I’m excited about. Don’t want to share too much about it because it’s a surprise, but it’s going to be neat!
What I’m excited about:
I am excited that we are finally finished with remodeling my mom’s house! When my dad passed away, my uncles and aunts and sister got together and decided to fix up some things at mom’s house. My dad had some pretty rough falls and had put some holes in walls and broken door jams, so it just needed a few things fixed. We also wanted to make sure she was safe and get her dead-bolt doors for security. One thing lead to another and we ended up pretty much redoing the whole house! It looks like a brand new home and I’m so excited for my mom! She is more than deserving of what all we did for her. We did new floors, new counter tops, new doors, painted every room, etc.
Some before and after pictures:
What I’m watching/reading:
Right now, nothing! I was able to read quite a few books at the beach, but since we’ve been home I haven’t read anything. As far as TV goes, I am looking forward to my shows starting back up this fall, especially Grey’s Anatomy and This is Us.
What I’m listening to:
Zach Williams’ song, Old Church Choir. If you haven’t listened to it, do me a favor and watch the video here. I love being reminded that there is nothing that will ever steal my joy!
We’ve also been listening to a lot of the Descendants 2 Soundtrack– We love Descendants in our house! On this soundtrack my favorite song is Ways to Be Wicked.
What I’m wearing:
Since we’ve been at the beach, I have lived in swimsuits! I picked this really cute one up at Wal-Mart for our trip to the beach. I love the fit of it and even though it’s not the best quality, I should get a summer’s worth of wearing it.
What I’m doing this weekend:
Not a lot planned. Friday I am going to take the girls school supply shopping and then Saturday we are having some friends over for supper. Sunday is church and then hopefully a nap!
What I’m looking forward to next month:
Even though it’s hard to get into a routine, I love the excitement a new school year brings. Also, my mom and I share a birthday in August and I can’t wait to celebrate with her!
Hope you all have the best Wednesday possible! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. I would love for you to subscribe to my blog or follow me on Instagram @jennifermbolin.

Your Mom’s house came out fabulous!! What an amazing job you all did!
It looks so nice! She’s so proud of it.
Congrats on your Master’s class!! I am halfway through mine for Administration as well!! Also, I had no clue they made all pink starburst now!! SO GOOD!
Your mom’s home looks great! 11 years is such a success! The student’s I did my student teaching with (kindergarten) are now Juniors this year! It is SO crazy! I have seen them grow up right before my eyes. I think that is one of my favorite parts of teaching, is when my former students still come to see me! Way to go with your Masters class. I loved this recap of your month!
