Book Review

Book Review

Hey, hey!

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a book review, so I thought I would share some good books with you that I’ve read lately.

Before We Were Yours

This was a very eye-opening book about foster care and the Tennessee Children’s Home.   This was also based off of true events.  Georgia Tann was in charge of the Tennessee Children’s Home and would snatch children from poor homes and “sell” them (through adoption) to wealthy businessmen and women.  This story follows twelve year old Rill and also Avery Stafford in present day that finds a connection of her past with the Tennessee Children’s Home.  Since Chris and I have done foster care before, this was an intriguing book to me!

Educated

This is a memoir of Tara Westover.  I found it a little difficult at times to understand completely what was happening.  However, after reading the whole story, I was captivated at the power of education.  Tara changed her life completely through her education.  She beat ALL odds to get to where she is today.

The Perfect Couple

I love Elin Hilderbrand! My goal is to go to Nantucket one day because I feel like I know the area so well.  This story was about a wedding where the maid of honor is found dead.  This book has A LOT of plot twists that I didn’t see coming throughout the whole book.  It was an easy read!

Daisy Jones & The Six

I loved, loved, loved this book.  This is a book I will recommend to people if they are looking for something to read.

I was SO sad when I got done reading this book and realized this band wasn’t a real band.  I even went to my Apple Music and searched for the songs to play!

This book was about the band and all things 70’s music.  I liked each character and loved the story line.

Do you like to read?

I haven’t had a lot of time to read since school started, but I love to sit down with a good book!

Happy Tuesday!
