What a wonderful weekend we had in the Bolin household! The weather was spectacular for January and we were able to spend quite a bit of time outside. It was a much needed break from all of the dreary weather we have been having lately.
Friday night we went over to some of our friend’s house in Poplar Bluff. David and Adrienne have been great friends of ours for over 13 years and we don’t get to see them often enough. We actually went to church with them when my father-in-law pastored in Ellisnore and then they came to church with us when he pastored in Malden. It was so great to see them and catch up. We ate supper together and then played cards the rest of the night. They have two boys, Landon and Gavin, and our girls played really well with them. All in all it was a great evening for everyone!
Saturday morning we had to be up earlier than normal for a practice cheer competition for Liz and her cheer team. We woke up around 7:45 and had to be at the gym by 9:00. At the gym the girls warmed up and got their make-up and hair done. The event started at 11:00 at Sikeston, so we left Dexter around 10:00. It was a great mock competition to let the girls get some of their jitters out before their first real competition in a few weeks. I was very proud of how well all the girls did, especially my Liz! She is one of the flyers in all of the stunts and her facial expressions are to die for! She cracks me up and I enjoy watching her do something she loves. I think it’s going to be a great cheer season for Xplosion All-Stars!
After the competition, Liz headed with a bunch of friends for a sleepover and I went and picked Emily up. She went to Nana’s house while I was with Liz at Sikeston and Chris was working at TC in Cape. Emily and I got back home around 1:00 and I let her invite her friend and neighbor, Blair, over to play. They played outside from 1:30 until about 5:00!!! It was such a pretty day and I was so glad they were able to play outside. I caught up on some laundry and cleaning while they played outside, but then when Blair’s brothers and mom came outside, I went outside and hung out with them. My neighbor, Kelly, and I have become really good friends and one of my favorite things to do is sit outside while the kids play and catch up on stories of our lives! It was a great afternoon.
Saturday night I continued to mess around at the house. Chris helped me hang a few hooks that had fallen off the wall and fixed my porch sign that the wind had broken the week before. I rearranged some furniture and cleaned out the fish tanks for the girls. A wild and crazy Saturday night! LOL
Sunday morning I went and got Liz from her friend’s house before church. We then went to church and came home and relaxed. I didn’t get a chance to go and get groceries Saturday night so I went Sunday after we ate lunch. It was another beautiful day outside, so the girls played with the neighbor girls and Chris and I sat on our porch swing together and watched them play. Sitting on our porch talking to Chris and watching our girls play reminds me how blessed I am!
Sunday evening has been full of football and relaxing. We are showing our house again tomorrow, so I am making sure everything looks spotless. I have also been watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix. Gilmore Girls has been slow for me to get into, but I am finally on season 3 and it is getting more interesting.
Leaving you with our #selfieSunday. I am also adding a few extra shots to show you what it’s like when Emily is in charge of the remote. LOL I pray you have a blessed week!
