Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Hi, friends! Hope your weekend was great! We are out of school today for MLK, Jr. Day and enjoying another day off together. We were out of school on Friday also, so our 3 day weekend turned into a 4 day weekend. AND… currently it is snowing like crazy at our house, so who knows what will happen?!?

Friday I took advantage of the day off and cleaned the house from top to bottom. I even shampooed all the carpets, so I had a very productive day!

Emily spent the day outside with neighbor friends sledding and jumping on the trampoline. We really only got a lot of ice so it made for some fun sledding! Liz didn’t want to attempt to sled because she was worried about her Dexcom so she stayed in and made a lot of slime.

Lizzie was excited that afternoon that she got a UNICORN! In the diabetic world, a unicorn is a blood sugar reading of 100! Her cousin Zach got one a few weeks ago and Liz has wanted one ever since! LOL

That evening we had let both girls invite a friend over. Emily’s friend ended up getting sick and couldn’t make it, so just Liz had someone over. I made it up to Emily by buying her a squishy, so she didn’t pout for too long.

The girls all painted, watched Netflix, and played with slime. Chris and I were able to watch a movie in peace while they played downstairs.

Saturday morning we made pancakes and enjoyed a slow morning. I was thankful to have my chores done and read more of my book!

Saturday afternoon we headed to Cape. Chris was working at the thrift store and so I took the girls to his parents house until he got off work there.

I headed to the spa for an afternoon of pampering! It was wonderful and much needed for this momma!

I had a gift card from Christmas and got the works done: mani, pedi, and massage!

After my massage I went in the sauna for about 10 minutes and played around with SnapChat filters! I enjoyed my afternoon to myself.

My next stop was getting my ring picked up from the jewelers! It had to get sized after Christmas and took 2 weeks to come in! I was so thankful to get it back!

I stopped at Chick-Fil-A to top my evening off and headed back to Dexter. Chris and girls were already home and had eaten supper, so we were really lazy that night! Chris watched football, I read, and the girls hung out in the basement.

Sunday our church was cancelled due to the parking lot being too slick still, so we slept in. Liz’s sugar was at a great rate and allowed her to sleep in a little longer than normal.

Since church was cancelled and hunting season is almost over, Chris decided to go hunting. I think he’s crazy for hunting in this weather but he loves it!

The girls and I decided to go to the movies while he hunted. We saw the Greatest Showman and it was AMAZING!! I recommend everyone to go and see it. Also, I am going to buy the soundtrack soon! All the songs were so good. My mom met us over there and my Uncle Scott and Aunt Manu were there too!

Sunday evening was laundry, playing board games, and watching TV.

Today has been low key also. I love weekends with nothing to do! It is snowing so beautifully and it’s so peaceful to just sit and watch.

I need to go grocery shopping but not sure if I’ll venture out in the weather or not. I’m content staying on the couch under my warm blanket all day.

Leaving you with our #selfieSunday. I pray you have a blessed week!

  1. What a fun weekend! I love that it turned into a 4 day weekend for your guys! How do your snow days work? Last year we had one and then had to go an extra day. I LOVE your nail color. I also love the slime! Happy Monday!

    1. Usually we have built in snow days so if we miss we don’t have to make them up. BUT.. this year we don’t have any built in snow days so every day we miss we will have to make it up. Have a great Monday!

  2. Love watching her slime videos :). So glad she got a unicorn! What a fun, quiet weekend. What are you reading???
