Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the word abide.
Abide means to remain stable or fixed in a state.
Jesus says in John 15:4… “Abide in me and I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me”.
To me, abide means to have a close, personal relationship with Jesus.
STAY with Jesus. ABIDE in Him.
When things get hard, don’t jump ship!
I once heard the analogy: if you have a glass of tea and leave the tea bag in it the whole time, the tea will have a strong(er) flavor. If you bob the tea bag up and down and in and out of the water over and over, the flavor of tea won’t be as strong.
This should be how our relationship with Jesus is! Stay with Him! And your life will be strengthened, just like the tea flavor!
Don’t grow weary of your relationship with Him. Don’t bob in and out of your walk with Him.
Stay the course, abide in Him, and He will bless your life!
I challenge you today to abide in God for the rest of the year and see what great things He will do for you!
Lord, please help me to abide in you and always draw nearer and nearer to you. Amen.

Thank you for this! I really needed it this morning. I recently found your blog and it is a blessing to me. I look forward to your posts!
