Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Hi, friends! Happy Monday! Can you believe we are already in August?

We only have 2.5 weeks left until we go back to school! So crazy to believe!

Linking with Heather, Tanya, Lindsay, and Johannah for Hello, Monday.

Friday we had Elizabeth’s check up at her endocrinologist. Her A1C was 8.4%! Not the best we’ve ever had, but I’ll take it!

We made it back into town in time to see a beautiful rainbow! I love this picture of the rainbow with the U.S. flag.

Saturday while Chris worked at Teen Challenge, the girls and I were pretty lazy. We slept in, cleaned the house up a little bit, picked up groceries, worked out, and then showered and got ready for the day.

It was so nice outside! We had a bunch of rain the day before that made the temperatures so much lower.

I sat outside and read my book for most of the afternoon.

And then when this guy got home he joined me:

That night we went out to eat and stopped at Academy for some fishing stuff.

Sunday morning we had church and then packed a picnic and headed to Alley Springs.

We LOVE Alley Springs and took advantage of the cooler weather again and enjoyed being outside.

We were also able to stop by and visit with Chris’s grandma Bolin. We had a wonderful visit with her! I snuck a quick picture but I wish I would’ve gotten a better one of her with the girls.

We stopped at the Dairy Shack on the way home. Yummy!

When we got home, I went and ran. I was only able to run a mile between the rain. For the month of August, I am challenging myself to run or walk at least a mile every day! I think I can, I think I can.

Ended the evening with sitting outside again and enjoying the beautiful weather! Elizabeth actually came and sat outside with me and READ a book?!? Without me asking her to! #whoisshe?

Leaving you with our #selfieSunday. I pray you have a blessed week!

  1. We’re supposed to get quite a bit of rain these next few days and we hope our temperatures will drop a bit after that. Despite the heat my husband and I did go hiking yesterday and it felt great to hit the trails again.

  2. Ohhh, it sounds like the perfect, relaxing weekend, Jen! Love the picture of you and Chris holding hands! And, yes, YOU CAN DO IT!!!! If you want to join my workout accountability group I have set-up during this COVID time, let me know and I can add you.
