Saturday was our last park day at Disney and we headed to Hollywood Studios.
Chris and Liz are big Star Wars fans and we all had just watched the new movie, so we were excited for this day as well.
We are troopers and met Megan, our VIP tour guide, at 4:00 a.m. I told Chris that proved how much I loved him if I was willing to get up that early for him!
Megan secured our spot at the front of the line, so we then just had to wait until 5:30 a.m. when they let us go through the turnstiles.
I loved chatting with Megan during this time and learning more about her. Also, I loved just people watching and seeing all the other crazy people come out that early in the morning.
Finally, at 5:30 they let us scan our tickets and then move up closer in the park. There were still attendants that held us back and kept us all together. We were still at the front of the line thanks to Megan.
There are no fast passes available for any of the new Star Wars rides (Smuggler’s Run and Rise of the Resistance) so you just hope you are able to get a boarding pass to Rise of the Resistance and be the first ones in line for Smuggler’s Run.
At 6:00 they open the app and let you get your boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance. Megan was able to secure boarding passes for all of us~ we were group 47. Chris was like a little kid he was so excited!
At 6:01, the attendants walked us all towards Galaxy’s Edge. I can’t even begin to explain to you how crazy this was! It was raining, slippery, and I was a little fearful of losing the girls.
Megan made us all get in a single file line and keep ahold of each other. It was quite comical how crowded and crazy this time was.
It’s something I will always remember forever!
We safely arrived at Galaxy’s Edge and were one of the first people to get onto Smuggler’s Run with no wait at all.
That early morning wake up call was well worth it!
Smuggler’s Run was an AWESOME ride. You get to go into an actual Millennium Flacon.
Chris and Liz were our pilots, James and and Emily were the shooters, and Megan and I were the engineers.
It was just like in the movies with riding on this ride. It was high intense and a little stressful for our poor pilots!
Chris and Liz did a(n) great okay job as pilots and we were able to escape and land safely with 8% life left. Megan said that was the worst she has seen pilots do on that ride, but Chris and Liz were just happy they didn’t crash us and we escaped!
After Smugglers Run we headed to Tower of Terror.
This was my second favorite ride for me! I LOVED the unknown of when we would drop on the elevator.
Surprisingly I was able to get Chris on this ride. He didn’t love it, but he didn’t hate it either and was glad he did it so he could say he did it. LOL
We then headed over to Toy Story Land. It was still pouring the rain during this time.
We had coveted Slinky Dog fast passes, so we used those next.
This was BY FAR my favorite ride at Hollywood Studios. Emily Grace had talked about this ride the whole time.
It was so much fun and the details that went into the ride were excellent.
After that we rode Alien Saucers and Toy Story Mania. Again, because of our VIP tour guide, we walked right onto all of these rides without waiting at all.
After we rode Toy Story Mania, they called our boarding pass number so we were ready to go to Ride of the Resistance.
Again, Chris and Liz couldn’t contain their excitement.
The whole experience of Ride of the Resistance was outstanding. I couldn’t believe how real it was from the movies.
At this point we had ridden every ride in the park (we didn’t want to do Rock N Roller Coaster) and it was only 10:00 a.m.!
Even with the crowds being huge, we couldn’t believe how easy it was maneuvering through the crowds.
We went and met Chewy!
We ate lunch and then said our goodbyes to Megan. She was worth every penny paid and made our trip 100 times more enjoyable.
I don’t think I would ever do Disney again without a VIP tour guide. I know it’s not in everyone’s budget, but if you are able to save for it, do it! You won’t regret it!
Before leaving, we watched a small Star Wars show at the front of the park and was able to see all the characters.
That evening we went back to Hollywood Studios just to walk and take it all in again.
We were able to ride Slinky Dog dash one more time at the request of Emily Grace. The wait for this was 85 minutes, but because of Elizabeth’s diabetes we didn’t actually have to wait in the line.
They gave us a time to come back so we were able to go and eat supper while we waited to go back and ride the ride one last time.
Hollywood Studios was so good to us!
It was Chris and the girls favorite park, but mine was Magic Kingdom because of all the classic rides.
Sunday was our rest day before we headed home Monday afternoon.
We slept in and then went to another outlet mall and shopped all day. After that we swam and stayed around our resort. It was a much needed relaxing day!
We are so thankful we were able to go on this trip. We made wonderful memories together and will always cherish them.

Hope your day is great!
