Vacations

Magic Kingdom

Hi, friends!

Happy New Year! We had the best, relaxing day yesterday just us 4. It was wonderful and much needed!

I’m going to start recapping our Disney trip and today I’m starting with Magic Kingdom.

We arrived in Orlando on Christmas night around 11:30 p.m.

The next morning (Thursday) we had to meet our VIP tour guide at 6:00 a.m., so we were running on little sleep, but excited for a day of fun at Magic Kingdom.

We were able to enter the park a little before 7:00 a.m. and headed straight to Space Mountain.

On our way there being able to see the castle with all the lights on it was so breathtakingly beautiful. I was in awe!

Our tour guide told us that Space Mountain would be the most intense ride we rode all day and man, was she right!

I am a roller coaster junkie and loved it!

The girls didn’t like that it was in complete darkness.

James screamed NO the whole time and Chris didn’t even get on the ride. He is terrified of roller coasters.

It was for sure a way to wake us up by starting with that ride!

After that ride we were able to watch the opening show at the castle with Mickey and Minnie.

Next up we went and rode all the other rides we wanted.

We rode: It’s a Small World, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Dumbo, Teacups, Under the Sea, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan’s Flight, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Buzz Lightyear’s ride. We also watched the 4D movie, Mickey’s PhilharMagic.

Whew! Makes me tired just thinking of it again!

Because of our VIP tour guide we never waited longer than 10 minutes for a ride. She also had people deliver us snacks anytime we wanted so we never had to take time to do that.

We were done riding every ride in the park that we wanted to (we chose not to ride Speedway) by 11:00 a.m.

We ate lunch and then Megan, our tour guide, had us reserved seats for the Christmas Parade.

It was definitely one of my favorite things from the trip seeing all the Disney characters during the parade.

After the parade, we said goodbye to our tour guide and walked around for a while taking the park in.

Around 3:00, we were all exhausted and headed back to our hotel to rest for a while.

It wasn’t 10 minutes later and these 3 were resting snoring very loudly!

Our plans were to go back to Magic Kingdom that night, but we decided to hit up Disney Springs instead. We had already seen everything at Magic Kingdom, so we wanted to visit a new area.

Disney Springs was SO crowded! We shopped a little, ate supper there, but mostly just took the sights in and enjoyed being together in beautiful, sunny Florida!

Our first day was very successful! Emily kept saying, “Best Day Ever”!

I agree, it was a pretty magical day!

Here is a video I made with even more pictures and videos if you want to check it out:

  1. Happy new year!! Love your photo and the title ‘no tired like Disney tired!!’ My daughter and son-in-law took my granddaughter in May then her dad took her in July and now my daughter is wanting to take her again. I would love to go with them. Not sure I am at my Disney best though right now. Looks like you kids had the best time.

  2. Space Mountain is such a classic!!! Love the pictures, and so glad y’all had such a great holiday!
