Happy Monday, friends! Hope your weekend treated you great!
Friday night Chris and I closed our pool down. It’s always a sad thing to do this, but it needed done since we haven’t been swimming lately. I was glad to get it off our to-do list!
We then mowed, weed-eated, and cleaned the garage!
Later that evening, I had to teach a few classes online through VIPKid. I found this company this summer and have been so pleased with working for them! I thought it was a scam at first, but it’s a legit thing. Basically, I am teaching Chinese kids to speak English. It is an awesome program! I will do a blog post about it soon.
Saturday morning started at 7:30 because we had to have Emily at the gym for her volleyball game. They lost in the third set, but played great! I love watching Emily’s enthusiasm on the court!
We stayed around at the gym, because Liz had to play an hour after Emily’s game so I didn’t want to drive back home to turn around and go right back.
Liz’s team won in the third set. In the first set they played horrible, so I was really worried about them! They got their act together and played great the 2nd and 3rd set, though. Liz served 13 in a row the third set! (proud mom moment!)
Right after volleyball, my in-laws took the girls to eat lunch so I could run a few errands in town. Then, I had to drop Liz off for one of her friend’s birthday party. They went to the trampoline park and had a blast!
While Liz was gone, Emily played outside and I had a cleaning party down in the basement. The girls do a great job of keeping their basement “pretty” clean, but every once in a while it needs a good scrub from me!
After that, Emily and I headed up to my classroom to work for a while. A teacher is never caught up on work, no matter what anyone says!
I ordered groceries online.
And then Emily and I played volleyball together outside the rest of the evening. She is mastering her overhand serve and it makes me proud! Chris was up at Cape this whole time working and then messing with all of his hunting stuff since bow season has officially started.
I taught a few more classes through VIPKid and got the sweetest message from one of my students! It made my night.
Sunday Chris got up early and went fishing. I graded papers and then made meatballs for Chris.
Liz cleaned her insulin bag out. It needed a good restock of low snacks and test strips, and pen needles, etc. This was probably one of the hardest weekends we’ve had with Liz’s sugar in a while. She was either 400 or 40, there was no in between!
I know she got frustrated dealing with it as she was at her friend’s party, but I’m so proud of her positive attitude about it all and her ability to not give up and frustrated with everything! Diabetes is TOUGH, but Liz is WAY tougher!
That afternoon, the girls and I went to PB. We did a little shopping and then headed to the college to watch The Little Mermaid play. It was an excellent show!
We met my sister, nephew, and mom over there. Tyler’s girlfriend was in the play, so he was excited to watch it.
We came home and Chris was finally home from the river, so we played a family volleyball game together.
Then, ended our evening with our #selfieSunday.
I pray you have a blessed week! It is our homecoming spirit week this week, along with our annual parade and fair week. Pray for us teachers is all I have to say! LOL
Linking up with Johannah and Heather for their Hello, Monday post.
