It’s Monday! Man, did it get here quickly!
There wasn’t a lot on the agenda this weekend, and that’s how it needed to be because there is no tired like the first full week back to school tired.
Friday night when Chris got home from football, we headed straight to Doniphan.
My sister asked us over to her house for pizza and to play games. It was a great evening!
We played Uno with the biggest Uno cards I’ve ever seen!
Followed by playing with their new kittens and a game of PIG in basketball.
Saturday I am embarrassed to say it, but I slept until 10:00!!! I was SO tired!
The girls both slept until about 10:30, so we had a very lazy morning.
Liz went to a swimming party that afternoon and Emily helped me do some chores around the house. We also ran into town for some errands and saw Dancing Lou! Emily’s day was made when she saw him!
Before Chris got home from TC, I went for a LOOONNNGGG run. It was hot and humid!
Saturday afternoon, Chris brought the girls’ pottery home that they painted a few weeks ago. It turned out great!
Next, we headed to PB. The girls have been wanting to eat at BWW and Saturdays are my days I don’t cook for the week, so we went over there and had a nice supper.
Followed it with grocery pick-up at Wal-Mart and then coming home and watching TV together.
Sunday Chris and I watched a church service online together and then took the time to pray for his mom. Her scan was that morning at MD Anderson. She should find results out today.
Sunday afternoon the girls drew in their new sketchbooks, Chris mowed the yard, and I cleaned the pool and did all the laundry.
I also snuck in a nap! Other teachers will understand how exhausting the first week of school is.
Sunday evening we showered, got everything ready for the new week, and changed Liz’s Dexcom.
We have something planned every weekend from now until the end of September, so I was thankful for this low-key weekend!

You guys had a great weekend. Praying for your MIL and her scans. You are right, there is no tired like that first full week of school tired. I am always beat on Fridays through September. Hahaha! I hope you have a great week!
Not going to lie…beyond JEALOUS that you slept in on Saturday. I was up before 6am getting ready for a volleyball tournament! 😴😴😴enjoy those kinds of weekends because with kiddos they just don’t happen enough!

That’s the biggest deck I have ever seen too, haha! The kitties must have *just* been born; they are so teeny!!!!! Who’s Dancing Lou… like is it someone well-known that I should have heard of maybe? Just curious. 🙂 Praying Chris’s mom’s scans come back good!!
It was so hard to play with those big cards! The kittens were only 3 days old, so brand new.
Dancing Lou is famous in our town. He works on the railroad and is only in town for a week every few months or so. He walks around town dancing and exercising and everyone here loves him. He’s so nice!
