Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Hello, friends! Happy Monday! Did anyone else watch the ACM’s last night? I was happy to catch Carrie Underwood singing her new song, Cry Pretty. She is SO talented!

We had a great weekend and I’m linking up with Johannah and Heather to share all about it!

Friday night Emily went with a friend and Chris had baseball after school, so Liz and I headed straight to Cape for her volleyball games. She is playing in a new league where she has two games a night every Friday for the month of April. It was such a GREAT evening of volleyball!

It is nice to see other teams that aren’t from your area and any playing time at this age makes them better athletes! We won our first game and then played our 6th graders the second game. We lost but honestly played SO much better than when we played them earlier in our season. They only beat us by 2 points the second set, so I was very proud of my girls! I want them to always love the game and continue getting better.

Saturday morning started slow. I cleaned the house and ran some errands around town. After lunch the girls and I went and got our nails done. It was a great afternoon of pampering!

Saturday evening we met Chris at Cape to attend the annual Teen Challenge banquet. I look forward to this night every year. It is wonderful to hear the testimonies of how God is putting hope within the lives of these addicts and breaking them free from their addictions!

Teen Challenge is a wonderful ministry and I’m so thankful to get to watch the lives of these men change. If you know someone that is struggling with drug addiction, know there is hope within reach. Check out Teen Challenge’s website here.

1,200 people filled the Show Me Center this year to attend the banquet. The testimonies, worship, guest speaker, and food were all amazing. My mom and Nini were able to attend this year and also our good friends, the Templemires. It was a great night in the Lord!

Sunday I finished cleaning the basement and did some homework and organized our diabetic supplies. It was also Happy’s birthday (our dog) so we made it a special morning for her and got her a mint bone! She turned 6!

That afternoon, Liz’s volleyball team met at the movies to watch The Miracle Season together. The movie was wonderful and I sobbed all the way through it! Definitely a heart-wrenching story, but such a great one!

We stopped by Ulta Beauty before heading home. That was my first time to be inside the new Ulta at PB and I was impressed! It was overwhelming all the choices for everything!

Sunday evening Chris’s parents came down and ate supper with us. A lot of you have been asking how my mother in-law is doing. She just had her last chemo treatment for this round and they go back to MD Anderson this Friday and she has a weekend full of scans and tests. We know God is working in her and we are praying for great scans and results! We covet your prayers for these cancer tumors to shrink and be gone!

Leaving you with our #selfieSunday. I pray you have a blessed week!
