Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! It has finally stopped raining here and we are supposed to have some sunshine today, so hopefully it will be a great day!

We had a great weekend and I am linking up with Johannah, Heather, and Lindsay for their Hello, Monday link-up.

Friday night I had volleyball practice with the MS girls until 5, came home and fixed supper, and then made it to Liz’s dress rehearsal for cheer at 6:15. Then I helped with her volleyball team’s practice from 6:30-8:00. We came home and were wiped out!!

Saturday morning Emily and I headed to Walmart to pick up a few last minute things for Liz’s cheer competition, her friend a birthday gift, and we had to get an oil change on my car. We were there for over an hour, so it took longer than I expected. We still had fun shopping and browsing the aisles together.

Emily went to a friends house and later headed with her to another friend’s birthday party. It was a swimming party and she had a blast.

While she was there, Liz and I headed to Southaven, MS for her cheer competition. She didn’t perform until Sunday, but we wanted to go the night before since we had to be there early on Sunday. We rode with another mom and daughter and had a great time together!

When we arrived at Southaven we shopped until we dropped.

It was crummy weather all evening, so we decided to grab Chick-Fil-A and went back to the hotel to swim. There was a birthday party or something going on down at the pool and it was really loud and crowded so the girls hung out for a while and then decided to call it an early night and go back to the room.

Sunday we had to be dressed and ready to go by 9:00 for the competition. It was a JAMfest competition and they are one of our favorites! I’m mad at myself because I didn’t take a picture of Elizabeth by herself! She makes me so proud and she didn’t let diabetes slow her down one bit and did amazing with her sugars all weekend!

The team did great but had some FIERCE competition and we ended up placing 5th out of 6 teams. The girls were a little sad, but know what to work on for next time to get better. I was proud of how well they did and how their attitude is always smiling and upbeat!!

Here are a few video clips to give you a glimpse of what a cheer competition is like.

We headed back home as soon as the awards ceremony was over. I have to brag on Chris for a minute because when we got home the house was spotless, groceries for the week had been bought, and laundry was all done. He is so good to me and helps me so much!

I made it back in time to take Emily to her piano/voice lesson. She usually has them on Monday nights but we had to switch our time this week. I went and listened the last few minutes of her lesson and teared up! She is SO gifted with singing and it makes my heart so happy to see her doing something she loves. Her teacher is amazing and has already taught her so much. I pray she uses her talent to glorify God always!

Leaving you with our #selfieSunday. I pray you have a blessed week!
