Life Lately

Happy Tuesday! In our house it’s not a very happy day. Emily woke up this morning around 3:00 a.m. throwing up and has been SO sick. She is finally sleeping again and hopefully can get some rest. I pray it’s a quick bug and no one else gets it! Not a very good way to start Christmas break.

We’ve been busy since school let out on Friday and I want to share some of it with you today.

Friday after school me and another Mom took nine 4th graders bowling and to eat pizza. I am letting both girls have a fun “friend” day during Christmas break and this is what Emily wanted to do. She has never been bowling before and had been begging to go!

So I invited some of her friends and recruited the help of a good mom friend and made it happen.

Bowling was interesting with 9 girls. We had a great time and the girls loved laughing and being together. Emily actually did really well for it being her first time bowling. The video of her on here is priceless. She was upset she left 1 pin! I love her excitement in life!

After bowling we ended the night at Pizza Hut. This was such a great group of girls and a great way to celebrate the start of Christmas break!

Saturday morning we had to be in Doniphan EARLY for our Gilmore family Christmas. My Uncle Scott and Aunt Manu will be in Germany for Christmas this year visiting my aunt’s family, so we celebrated a week early.

My Nini fixed breakfast and it was wonderful! I think we may have started a new tradition. I love breakfast foods!

I didn’t take a lot of pictures because I enjoyed the day with family. We ate good food and had our gift exchange with the adults and just enjoyed being together! (I LOVE the picture of my mom with my uncles <her brothers>~ I’m so thankful for them to help her through this hard time of missing Dad)

After we made it home Saturday evening we decided the let the girls bake some sugar cookies. They are so independent in the kitchen anymore and can pretty much do everything on their own. We played our Christmas music way too loud and ate way too many cookies as we were baking them. Love my family!

Well, this is all I have time for today. I will share about our Sunday Funday with cousins tomorrow.

I am going to leave you with our #selfieSunday for the week. I pray you have a blessed week!

  1. Oh what a fun weekend. We love bowling big @ the Hensley house, but my boys (all 3) are ridiculously competitive. Someone always ends up crying because they didn’t win! Ha

  2. What a fun weekend! I sure hope Emily is feeling better! I love that you all had a big family breakfast. Bowling looked like a lot of fun and nothing beats decorating cookies. Enjoy your break!

  3. I sure hope the flu doesn’t spread, that doesn’t sound fun at all. Love the baking pictures with all of you, what a fun way to spend the evening. xoxo ERIN
