Happy Friday! We are out of school today and I’m SO glad! It is a much needed day off. We had conferences until 7:00 last night and then Chris and I had to pick the girls up from Doniphan, so we didn’t get home until late!
Today I am linking up with Narci, Erika, and Andrea to share with you my Friday Favorites.
ONE
Today my dad would’ve turned 58. One of his best friends sent me this picture in the mail and it’s a new favorite of mine. I wish I could tell him happy birthday today, but I know he is healthy and whole celebrating with Jesus in heaven. Still doesn’t make me miss him any less!
TWO
You guys~ look at all these gift cards! People have been SO generous to our family since learning of Chris’s mom’s cancer. We have received literally hundreds of texts or phone calls, and then we were blessed with meals and all of these gift cards for eating out! Did I mention how blessed are we?!?! I know these will come in handy when we are with her in and out of hospitals and/or getting treatments or whatever the case might be.
THREE
My kitchen island! I blogged about our kitchen yesterday and I know some of you saw it then, but this island is GORGEOUS! Chad knocked it out of the park and made it exactly how I wanted it. It completes the kitchen and made everything tie together perfectly. I am so happy with it.

This necklace I ordered from 6th and Style is a new favorite. They were having a sale and then I had a promo code for an extra 10% off from my friend, Erin. Some of my students asked me why I had the initial E on my necklace, but when I asked them what my daughter’s names were (Elizabeth and Emily) they said, “ooooooooohhhhh.” HA
FIVE
This story Emily wrote the other night melted my heart. Our girls have a great imagination and we are blessed with good kids that like to do crafts, color and write funny stories still. Don’t get me wrong, we love our electronics and YouTube, but we have a good balance of that and creativity. Emily wrote this story on the way to Cape the other night and I loved it! With her being a dyslexic, she really struggles with having confidence to write and spell words on her own, so I loved reading this story. She has come so far with her writing/reading ability and I’m so proud of her!
SIX
Our high school volleyball team won DISTRICTS this week! This is a huge accomplishment! They play in sectionals on Saturday and we can’t wait to support them! Good luck, Lady Cats!
Hope you all have a great weekend. We plan to enjoy every minute of it! Be looking for a fun post on Sunday to celebrate my one year blog-iversary!

Way to go Emily! Her writing is really good. I am continuously praying for you and your family and mother in law. I love the necklace. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Oh my goodness!! That kitchen island😍😍 Praying for you sweet friend as you remember your precious dad today! Hope your family has a wonderful weekend!!
I’m visiting from Friday Favorites, and I’m so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law! That’s so wonderful that friends are blessing you with gift cards. We just got through our home flooding in Hurricane Harvey, and it meant so much when people we knew in real life and via the internet gifted us with kind words and help. And that kitchen island looks AMAZING!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
