Show and Tell Tuesday

Show and Tell Tuesday

Good morning!  Happy Tuesday!

Today I am linking up with Andrea @ Momfessionals and sharing with you some of my best recipes.

I don’t have a lot of time as I am typing this and REALLY need to be doing homework, so I am only going to share three of my favorite recipes with you today.

ONE

A crowd-pleaser any time I make them are my meatballs.    I actually can’t take credit for this recipe.  My friend, Adrienne, shared it with me about ten years ago and it is my all-time favorite meatball recipe.  Any time I make these for a get together or event, I usually have one or two people asking me for the recipe.  They are easy to make and DELICIOUS!

Here are the ingredients you will need:

1 can of evaporated milk

3 lb hamburger

2 cup oats

1/2 cup chopped onion (Chris doesn’t like a lot of onion so I have left this ingredient out before and they still taste fine)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

2 teaspoons chili powder

Mix all of these ingredients together and form balls.  Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Then, once they are cooked I put them in a crockpot, cover with the sauce, and cook on high until they get nice and hot, then turn the crockpot down to low.

Recipe for sauce I make with them:

2 cups catsup

2 cups brown sugar

2 tablespoons liquid smoke

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 cup chopped onion (sometimes I omit the onion in the sauce)

  • I like a lot of sauce and usually always double the recipe for the sauce to make the meatballs juicier.

TWO

The second recipe I want to share with you all today is a wonderful sausage dip!  It is Chris’s favorite snack for me to make for him and it is really easy to make because there are only three ingredients!

Here is what you will need:

1 can of rotel

1 package of sausage (I LOVE Jimmy Dean’s Country Mild)

3 packages of cream cheese

Let the cream cheese set out to soften.  During that time, brown the sausage and drain the grease.  Put sausage, cream cheese packages, and can of rotel (drain first) all together in a crockpot.  Cook on high until it is easy to stir ingredients together, then turn to low.

THREE

The last recipe I am sharing is my favorite dessert to make.  If you haven’t noticed yet, I am all about easy recipes with very few ingredients and this is another winner.  I am not sure the exact name of it, we just call it Heath Bar cake in our house.

Ingredients needed:

1 regular size package of INSTANT cholocate pudding

1 chocolate cake mix (any brand)

1 tub of cool whip (normal size)

package of Heath Bar English Toffee bits

FYI:  You must have 2 of these pans to make this recipe.  They are called fluted tart pans or sometimes known as quiche pans.  Find them here on Amazon.

Make the cake according to directions.  Use the specific pans in the above picture and pour the cake batter into both pans.  Be careful not to fill too full.  {I usually have a little bit of batter that I don’t use}

Bake the cake according to package.  With these types of pans, I follow the directions for two round cake pans, but it usually doesn’t take them the required time to bake.  I usually bake the cake for only about 20 minutes.

While cake is cooling, make the icing.

Make the pudding according to package.  When the pudding is set, fold in half of the cool whip and stir and then fold in remaining cool whip.  Stir until completely mixed.

When cakes are cool, put one layer on a plate.  Then put half of the icing on that first layer.  Repeat process and put the remaining cake layer on and top with the leftover icing.  Sprinkle the Heath Bar bits all over the top.

Put in refrigerator and let it chill for a few hours.  The colder the cake is, the better.

I promise that if you make any of these recipes they will not disappoint.  I can’t wait to read everyone else’s recipes on the link-up and hopefully try some of them out.

Hope you all have a great day today!  Leaving you with a verse from my devotion this morning that spoke to me.  I’m so thankful for God’s comfort in my life!

2 Corinthians 1: 3-4, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

  1. All your recipes look and sound delicious! I’ve never made that dip with cream cheese before. I just always used Velveeta! Can’t wait to try it your way! I think it would be perfect for football season!!
