April Book Review

Happy May!  We are so excited that May is finally here!  Emily has been counting down to her birthday {May 27} since Christmas it seems like, so she is happy we are finally in her birth month!

Today I am sharing with you my April Book Review.  I was only able to read ONE book this month!  I was mad at myself that I didn’t read more, but with moving and Easter and everything with my dad I just haven’t found the time to read like normal.

The one and only book I read this month was I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh.

If I were to rate it, I would definitely give it a 5 out of 5.  It was very suspenseful and kept me wondering what would happen next on almost every page.  If you liked reading Gone Girl or Girl on the Train, I recommend that you read this book.

At the beginning of the story, 5 year old Jacob Jordan was struck and killed by a hit-and-run.  Since that tragic accident, Jenna Gray flees her town of Bristol, England and ends up at an isolated Welsh village.  We follow Jenna as she tries to deal with her past life and making a new life in Welsh.  We also follow the hit and run story through Detective Ray and his constable, Kate.

There is a “BIG TWIST” in this story that I had no idea was coming.  I had to go back and re-read many sections just to make sure I was understanding it correctly.  So many different things happen as we follow Jenna’s story.  The ending was unreal and once again truly makes my heart hurt for any woman who tries to escape danger like Jenna had to.

Hopefully this month I can get back to reading more.  I am hopeful in a few weeks our house will finally be settled so my free time can be devoted to reading.
