What's Up Wednesday?

What’s Up Wednesday?

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Today I am linking up with Shay, Mel, and Sheaffer and sharing with you my monthly What’s Up Wednesday post.

What I’m reminiscing about:

Summertime!  We only have 17.5 more days of school, so I have been catching myself lately reminiscing about sweet summertime.  I can’t wait to have the time off with my girls.  We love going to Current River and also swimming in our pool.  Also can’t wait for sleeping in and the long nights with Chris swinging on our swing.

What I’m loving:

I am trying to eat a lot better to help me lose a few pounds for summer, so I’ve been buying lots of fruits and healthier snacks.  I recently picked up a bag of these dried cranberries and actually really like them!  They have a really good flavor and are quickly becoming my favorite snack to take to school to eat on throughout the day.

What we’ve been up to:

Getting settled into our new house.  We are nowhere near settled, but we are getting closer.  Emily’s room remodel downstairs is finally framed and ready for sheet rock.  We’ve had the ENTIRE house painted and bought both girls brand new bedroom furniture.  We are waiting for our new kitchen counter tops to come in and will start on that project next.  It will still be a few weeks before everything is finished, but it is going to look GREAT!  Right now everything is pretty chaotic because Emily is upstairs in a bedroom that is really going to be our office, so I can’t put anything where it truly belongs yet.  I’m trying not to stress too much about it.

What I’m dreading:

My dad’s health is going downhill fast.  He was recently diagnosed with dementia and is in the severe stage of it.  Because of how fast he has already declined, I am dreading to see what these next few months hold.  Pray for my mom and all of us that we make the best decisions possible.  It is such a tough situation.

What I’m working on:

Right now our master bedroom is the only room in the house that isn’t getting worked on, so I have been trying to decorate and organize in there.  I bought a new comforter and accent chairs and I’m trying to decide on exactly what accent color I want to use to go with the gray.  I am saving my money up for a new headboard and need to add curtains, more bed pillows, lamps, and pictures also.  At our old house, I let Chris put some outdoor stuff up in our bedroom because that was the only space he had.  Now that our office is going to be his “man cave”, I am trying to decide how I want to decorate our master bedroom.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I’m thinking maybe a teal or even a purple color to accent with the gray.  Chris is color blind, so I can get away with doing pretty much anything!

Summertime!

What I’m watching:

I honestly haven’t had time to watch hardly anything lately.  I did catch up on my Grey’s Anatomy shows I had missed the past few Thursday nights.

What I’m reading:

I am currently reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.  I just started it the other night, but so far it’s really good!

What I’m listening to:

Chris shared this song {Brett Young- In Case You Didn’t Know} with me the other night and said it reminded him of me.  It is a really sweet song and since he shared it with me I have found myself listening to it over and over.

What I’m wearing:

Nike shorts and a t-shirt!  That is my go to outfit for these warmer days and what I live in during the summer months.

What I’m doing this weekend:

I’m going to try to start hanging some pictures downstairs in the basement.  Emily has a friend coming over Friday night to spend the night and Elizabeth is going to see The Lion King with a friend on Saturday, so I hope it’s a nice relaxing weekend for me.  I have TONS I can do!

What I’m looking forward to next month:

The last day of school {May 19} and Emily Grace turns 9!  We have a BIG American Girl doll trip planned for her birthday this year.

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!  Chris is FINALLY done with baseball season so I can’t wait for him to be able to come home with us right after school.

  1. What a fun recap. I will keep your parents in my thoughts and prayers, that is really tough. Your master bedroom is beautiful. I love the chairs. And thank goodness summer is coming! The end of the year is so crazy, but summer break does make up for that 🙂
