I am sure I am one out of millions of people that watched last night’s season finale of This is Us. Chris and I were faithful viewers and watched the show together every Tuesday night. I got attached to The Big 3, Jack, and Rebecca. Even though last night’s episode disappointed me a little bit, it did answer a few questions. I liked finding out how Jack and Rebecca met and I also thought that their fight was the most real-life marital fight I have ever seen on TV.
The thing that I LOVED about last night’s episode was the last 10 minutes when Jack finally told Rebecca all of the reasons he loved her. During their fight, Rebecca had asked Jack, “What do you love about me as I am right now?” Jack didn’t answer at the time, but the show left off with him listing all the reasons why he loved her and then he did his trademark wink and walked out the door. I am glad Jack didn’t die in the season finale, but SO many questions are left unanswered! I can’t wait for Season 2!
Since Chris and I are high school sweethearts and have been together for almost 17 years, I was joking with Chris right before bed last night and told him he probably couldn’t think of very many reasons why he loves me for who I am right now. Not high school Jenny he fell in love with, but {almost} 33 year old getting wrinkles on her face Jenny. He laughed and told me we didn’t have enough time for him to list all the reasons why he loves me. We went to bed and I didn’t really think much more about it.
This morning I had morning duty at school and didn’t get into my classroom until my 1st hour started at 8:15. At lunch, when I finally had a chance to sit down and read my emails, I noticed Chris had emailed me. The title was simply “Why I Love You” and he then proceeded to list every reason why he loves me. I am copying and pasting his email down below and sharing it so I will remember it forever. I am so blessed that Chris loves me for who I am and treats me like a queen.
- I love how great you are with the girls. You are giving them such a great example of how a wife and mother should be and they are so lucky to have you as their mom.
- I love the way that our friendship has developed over the years. You are my best friend and make me feel important.
- I love the fact that you put up with my hobbies and don’t give me much grief about them.
- I love that you are my biggest supporter and fan. You make me feel like I can do and accomplish anything and I know without a doubt that you will always be in my corner.
- I love the teacher that you are and that you take your job serious but not too serious.
- I love how you are willing to put your desires and wants to the side for our kids. You take the time to read with them, do homework with them, take them to practices and coach their teams.
- I love your laugh and smile. You light up the room whenever you smile.
- I love, love, love how easy it is to talk with you.
- Your personality, compassion, and easy going spirit are what drew me to you years ago and those same qualities make me fall in love with you more and more.
- Your smoking hot and get better looking all the time.
- You are with out a doubt the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am the luckiest guy in the world to get to spend this life with you.
- I could go on and on and on about why I love you……..
